You’ll spend the day exploring the Chianti hills on horseback, riding through the countryside around Pelago before arriving at a wine estate hidden among the Tuscan landscape. Between two stretches in the saddle, you’ll step inside the estate’s historic spaces, discover its cellars and sit down for a tasting of local wines, extra virgin olive oil and traditional Tuscan flavours.
The Experience
Riding through the Chianti Hills
Your day begins at an equestrian centre in Pelago, where you set out on horseback into the surrounding Tuscan countryside. Over the next two hours, you follow rural paths through the rolling landscape of the Chianti hills, slowly making your way towards a nearby wine estate.
Inside a Tuscan Wine Estate
Arriving around midday, you leave the horses behind for a while and explore the estate on foot. You’ll visit its private courtyards and garden before continuing into the fermentation and ageing cellars, discovering the spaces where the estate’s wines are produced and matured.
Wine, Olive Oil & Tuscan Flavours
After the visit, you sit down for a tasting of five local wines alongside extra virgin olive oil produced on the estate. A light Tuscan lunch accompanies the tasting, with traditional products including local cold cuts and pecorino cheese.
Back into the Countryside
In the afternoon, you return to your horse and begin the journey back through the Chianti hills. Another two hours in the saddle take you through the countryside towards Pelago, completing the experience where the day began.

Beyond the Experience
With the day divided naturally between riding and time at the estate, there is space to experience both sides of the landscape: travelling through it on horseback and discovering what is produced within it. The experience runs from around 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. and should be reserved at least four days in advance.
An Invitation
This is Chianti experienced at the pace of horseback. You ride through the hills towards a quiet wine estate, step into its cellars and gather around the table for wine, olive oil and simple Tuscan flavours before returning through the countryside in the afternoon. A day shaped by the landscape, the vineyards and the traditions that belong to them.
