Tuscany: Truffle Hunting, Masterclass & Tuscan Lunch in the Hills of San Miniato

You’ll spend a few hours in the countryside around San Miniato, one of Tuscany’s most renowned truffle regions, where olive groves and private woodland surround a historic estate. Together with a small group, you follow trained truffle dogs into the forest, learn about the traditions behind truffle hunting and return to the table for a Tuscan lunch built around fresh seasonal truffle.

The Experience

Into the Tuscan Forest

Your experience begins at the estate before you make your way through the olive groves and into the private woodland. Accompanied by trained Lagotto Romagnolo truffle dogs, you learn where truffles grow, what conditions they need and how the dogs follow their scent beneath the forest floor.

The Truffle Hunt

As the dogs lead the way, you follow their signals through the woods and take part in uncovering the truffles they find. Afterwards, a truffle masterclass introduces you to the different seasonal varieties and shows you how fresh truffles are identified, cleaned, stored and used.

From Forest to Table

Back at the estate, the experience continues around the table. You enjoy a Tuscan lunch featuring fresh truffle, accompanied by estate-produced olive oil and wine. It brings the morning full circle, from searching beneath the trees to tasting the ingredient within the quiet surroundings of the Tuscan countryside.

Beyond the Experience
