Marrakech: A Slow Riad Stay in the Heart of the Medina
Send us your preferred date and group size on WhatsApp for a personalised quote.
Hidden behind the ochre walls of Marrakech, we step away from the rhythm of the Medina and into the quiet of a traditional Moroccan riad. Cool tiled courtyards, carved wood, warm tadelakt and softly lit rooms create a world that feels wonderfully removed from the streets outside — a place for slow breakfasts, afternoons beside the pool and evenings beneath the Marrakech sky.
The Stay
A Courtyard Made for Slow Afternoons
At the heart of the riad lies a peaceful courtyard, where traditional Moroccan details surround a small pool. Zellige tiles, carved wood and soft natural light give the space its intimate character, creating somewhere to return to between walks through the Medina.
There is little need to plan the afternoon. We can settle beside the water, find a shaded corner and simply enjoy the quiet that exists behind the riad walls.
Rooms with Moroccan Character
The rooms continue the atmosphere of the courtyard, combining traditional Moroccan decoration with the comfort of a contemporary stay.
Warm textures, carefully chosen furnishings and an understated palette make them feel calm and intimate — somewhere to retreat after a day spent wandering through Marrakech.
Breakfast Above the Medina
Morning can begin on the rooftop terrace, where breakfast is served overlooking the rooftops of the old city.
From here, views stretch towards the Koutoubia and, on clear days, the Atlas Mountains beyond. Later in the day, the terrace becomes a beautiful place for mint tea or a quiet dinner as the light begins to soften over Marrakech.
A Traditional Hammam Ritual
For an even slower afternoon, the riad has its own spa and hammam.
Traditional Moroccan treatments include black soap cleansing rituals, eucalyptus, ghassoul clay and argan oil, allowing us to experience one of Morocco's most enduring wellness traditions without leaving the calm of the riad.
Moroccan Evenings Around the Table
Food is another part of the stay. Moroccan dishes are prepared using fresh produce sourced from Marrakech and its surroundings, with familiar flavours such as slow-cooked tagines, couscous, salads and pastilla.
Lunch can unfold beside the courtyard pool, while dinner may be enjoyed by candlelight in the patio or beneath the evening sky on the rooftop.

Beyond the Stay
Step outside and the atmosphere changes almost immediately. The narrow streets, markets, courtyards and historic architecture of the Medina surround us, making the riad a peaceful base for discovering Marrakech on foot.
Yet returning feels just as much a part of the experience — closing the door behind us, leaving the city outside and returning to the stillness of the courtyard.
An Invitation
We wander through Marrakech until the afternoon light begins to fade, then return behind the riad walls for mint tea, cool tiles and a quiet evening beneath the stars — experiencing the Medina slowly, from a place that feels hidden within it.
