Istria: An Excellence Wine Tasting with Istrian Bites

In the rolling hills, we settle in for a deeper exploration of Istrian wine. Guided by an experienced wine professional, six carefully selected wines reveal the character of two distinctive vineyard sites, indigenous varieties and different approaches to winemaking, accompanied by small dishes created to complement each glass. 

The Experience

Discovering Istria Through Six Wines

Rather than a traditional cellar tour, this is a wine-focused seated tasting designed for those who want to understand the region in greater depth. We taste six wines—currently Valle, Malvazija, Santa Lucia Akacia, Teran, Santa Lucia Noir and Mediteran—although the selection can change with season and availability. 

Two Vineyards, Different Expressions

Throughout the tasting, our wine educator introduces us to the Valle and Santa Lucia vineyards and the indigenous varieties grown there. We explore how vineyard location, cultivation and different vinification methods influence what eventually reaches the glass, offering a closer look at Istrian terroir rather than simply moving from one wine to the next. 

Wine & Small Istrian Bites

Cold and warm bites accompany the wines, carefully paired to complement the tasting. With around ninety minutes at our own table, the experience has an unhurried rhythm—time to taste, compare and return to each glass while discovering the relationship between Istrian wine and food.

Beyond the Experience

This particular experience is intentionally centred on the wines, so a wine cellar tour is not included. For those looking for something even more intimate, the winery separately offers a private tasting for small groups, featuring a curated selection that can extend from current releases and single-vineyard wines to bottles from its archive and wine library.
