Tucked into the rolling Cotswolds countryside, we find a historic English estate where old stone houses, cottages and restored farm buildings sit among gardens, farmland and winding gravel paths. Rather than feeling like a conventional country hotel, the property unfolds almost like a small hamlet, inviting us to wander between its different spaces and spend much of the day outdoors. Nature is woven into nearly everything here—from the produce growing in the kitchen gardens to the food on our plates and the botanical approach to wellness—creating a stay that feels quietly connected to the seasons.

Life Between the Gardens and Meadows

The working farm and gardens give the estate its rhythm. Kitchen gardens produce herbs, fruit and vegetables for the kitchens, while cutting gardens bring flowers into the wider life of the property. Beyond them, water meadows and riverbanks are managed with native wildlife in mind.

We can wander the estate paths, pass through the gardens and see sheep grazing on the farm, allowing the landscape to become part of our everyday routine rather than simply the view outside our window. Longer countryside walks lead beyond the estate when we feel like exploring further.

Eating with the Seasons

Food begins in the gardens. Chefs and gardeners work closely together, allowing what is growing to guide a modern interpretation of British country cooking. Vegetables, herbs and fruit move from the productive gardens into the estate’s kitchens, making the changing seasons tangible at the table.

There are several places to eat across the property, from a restored agricultural barn to a cosy village pub and relaxed seasonal dining near the gardens. Rather than centring the stay around formal dining alone, food feels like another expression of the surrounding countryside.

A Botanical Kind of Rest

The spa offers a quieter way of connecting with the natural character of the estate. Set around its own garden, it brings together a spring-water pool, restorative spaces and botanical treatments in a setting designed for slowing down.

Treatments and dedicated spa experiences can be booked separately, allowing us to make wellness as much or as little a part of our stay as we like. On slower days, simply moving between the gardens, pool and countryside can provide its own sense of restoration.

Come for the quiet of the countryside, and settle into whatever the season brings.
