Bordeaux: A Wine Cottage Among the Vineyards

In the countryside, we settle into an intimate cottage surrounded by an organic vineyard and the gently rolling landscape. The cottage gives us our own corner of a working wine estate, with a private wrap-around terrace looking across vines and valley. Inside, natural materials, organic cotton and simple contemporary comforts keep the atmosphere relaxed and understated. There is no television competing for our attention; instead, the landscape beyond the terrace becomes part of everyday life.

Mornings Among the Vines

The private terrace is where much of the slower rhythm begins. With separate places to sit, sun loungers and open views across the vineyard, we can take breakfast outside, read in the morning light or simply watch the countryside change throughout the day.

Beyond our cottage lies a working organic farm and vineyard, with old stone buildings, walking paths and pockets of wild nature woven throughout the estate. We can wander without needing a particular destination, letting a simple walk through the vines become part of the experience.

An Afternoon Left Unplanned

Some afternoons call for little more than the salt-water pool beside the vines, while others might begin with a quiet yoga session surrounded by the landscape. Sessions are held in nature and among the vineyards—an especially peaceful way to begin the morning or settle into the slower rhythm of the countryside.

A Gentler Way to Experience Wine Country

The ecological philosophy of the vineyard extends naturally into the stay. The cottage has been renovated with ecological insulation and uses organic-cotton bed linen and towels, while the wider property operates as a certified organic farm with a strong emphasis on nature and responsible agriculture.

It gives us a different way to experience this corner of France: not by rushing from château to château, but by waking within the vineyard itself, leaving time for long breakfasts, countryside walks and an evening glass of wine on our terrace.\
