Tuscany: Private Tuscan Goldsmith Workshop – Create Your Own Silver Jewellery

You’ll spend four unhurried hours in a small workshop in the Tuscan countryside, discovering the traditional craft of goldsmithing from the first idea to a finished piece of jewellery. Guided step by step, you’ll work with real silver using traditional tools and techniques, creating something entirely your own to take home with you.

The Experience

Inside a Tuscan Goldsmith’s Workshop

Your experience begins at the workbench, where you’re introduced to the tools, materials and techniques used in traditional jewellery making. No previous experience is needed, allowing you to follow the process at your own pace while learning directly through your hands.

From Silver to Something of Your Own

You’ll work through the different stages of creating a piece of jewellery, from melting and shaping the metal to sawing, filing and polishing. Three grams of silver are included, giving you enough material to create a small piece such as a ring.

A Pause Around the Table

Partway through the workshop, you’ll slow down for a small Tuscan spread of local cheese, cold cuts and seasonal fruit, accompanied by coffee, tea or water. It gives the experience a relaxed rhythm, with time to step away from the workbench before returning to finish your piece.

Beyond the Experience

If you have an old piece of jewellery you would like to give new life to, you may be able to bring it with you and incorporate the material into your creation. Pick-up from the bus stop in San Casciano Val di Pesa can also be arranged, while private transport from Florence is available separately.
