Tuscany: A Hillside Escape Among Olives and Lavender
High in the hills of coastal Tuscany, we find a restored country house surrounded by old trees, olive groves and fragrant Mediterranean gardens, with views unfolding across the countryside towards the sea. Inside, the feeling is intimate and collected rather than formal, bringing together vintage and art furnishings, contemporary artwork and quiet terraces made for reading or simply watching the landscape change with the light.
Among Olives and Gardens
Outside, much of the day can be allowed to unfold without a plan. Olive trees mingle with lavender, sage and rosemary around panoramic terraces and shaded pergolas, while the heated salt-water pool offers a peaceful place to linger from spring into autumn. There is also a whirlpool tucked among the olive trees and flowering garden.
From the Hills to the Sea
One of the pleasures of staying here is being able to move between two versions of Tuscany. We can spend the morning among olive trees and return to the pool in the afternoon, or head down towards the Versilia coast. Seasonal access to a private beach club, including a private gazebo, changing facilities and towels, is included with the accommodation.
A Little Further Into Tuscany
When we feel like exploring, additional experiences can take us deeper into the region—from excursions into the Apuan Alps and visits to the marble quarries to boat trips, wine tastings, cycling and leisurely Vespa tours. Tailor-made private itineraries can also be arranged.
Or we can choose to remain closer to the house, arranging an optional massage beneath the trees and allowing the landscape itself to become the day's only destination.
Come for the Tuscan hills, and linger where the olive groves slowly give way to the sea.
