Marrakech Countryside: A Two-Hour Horseback Ride through the Atlas Landscape
Beyond the movement of Marrakech, we head towards the countryside near Tahannaout, where the city gradually gives way to open land and the Atlas Mountains rise in the distance. Here, we spend two hours on horseback, discovering the quieter landscape surrounding Marrakech at a slower pace.
The Experience
Setting Out into the Countryside
We begin from the ranch and settle into the rhythm of the horse before heading into the surrounding landscape. Away from the streets of Marrakech, the setting feels noticeably more open and peaceful, with the Atlas Mountains creating a dramatic backdrop to the ride.
Two Hours on Horseback
The longer ride gives us time to simply enjoy being outside rather than rushing through the experience. For two hours, the landscape unfolds gradually from horseback, allowing us to take in the changing scenery and the quiet of the countryside around Tahannaout.
Beneath the Atlas Mountains
What makes the ride memorable is its setting. The mountains remain part of the horizon as we move through the landscape, giving the experience a sense of place that feels distinctly different from Marrakech itself — spacious, natural and wonderfully unhurried.
