Cape Town: A Private Vineyard Manor beneath the Franschhoek Mountains
We stay in a secluded manor tucked into the Franschhoek countryside, where vineyards stretch towards the mountains and days seem to move at a gentler pace. Around an hour's drive from Cape Town, the estate feels wonderfully removed from the city, yet sits only a few minutes from the village of Franschhoek.
A Manor Made for Slow Days
The house is generous yet private, with six en-suite bedrooms gathered around spaces designed for being together. We wake slowly, linger over breakfast prepared for us, and move between quiet interiors, the outdoor patio and the garden as the light changes across the valley. A dedicated breakfast chef and concierge bring an understated sense of ease to the stay.
Between the Pool & the Vines
Outside, a private pool becomes the natural centre of long summer afternoons. Beyond it lie the cultivated landscapes of the estate — vineyards, gardens and mountains creating that beautiful sense of being enclosed by the countryside without ever feeling isolated. The property remains a working farm, with vines forming part of its landscape and history.
Evenings beneath the Mountains
As evening settles in, we can gather around the outdoor boma and braai, stay outside on the private patio, or return indoors to the warmth of the fireplace. Beyond the estate, Franschhoek opens up possibilities for wine tasting, dining, hiking, horseback riding and exploring the valley, all available as additions to the slower rhythm of our stay.
We come for a private manor beneath the mountains, and linger for vineyard mornings, swims in the afternoon and evenings gathered quietly beneath the Franschhoek sky.
