Cape Town: A Private Herbal Bathing Ritual

We slow down in the Cape Winelands with a private bathing ritual shaped by indigenous botanicals, hand-harvested herbs and traditions rooted in the landscape. Designed for just one or two guests, the three-hour experience unfolds quietly through warmth, water, scent and touch — an intimate way to experience the Cape beyond its vineyards.

Beginning with Warmth

We begin on a warm stone treatment table with a full-body exfoliation, preparing the skin before moving deeper into the ritual. It is deliberately slow and tactile, allowing the experience to feel less like a conventional spa treatment and more like a gradual transition into stillness.

Bathing in Cape Botanicals

From here, we sink into a warm herbal bath infused with rooibos, rose pelargonium, gotu kola and Cape rose. Wrapped in linen and surrounded by the scent of local botanicals, we settle into the water while a pressure-point scalp and neck massage accompanies the bathing ritual.

A Slow Ending

The ritual finishes with a full-body massage using smooth stones gathered from the river that runs through the farm and nourishing shea butter. Afterwards, there is no need to rush away: the experience concludes with a wholesome lunch and a glass of wine or sparkling grape juice.
