We stay among the quieter landscapes of Bali, where wooden cottages sit beside green paddocks and horses graze just beyond the porch. Surrounded by rice fields and village life, with the beach only a short walk away, this is a slower and more rural expression of Bali.

The Experience

Waking Up Beside the Horses

The cottages are woven into the life of a working rescue stable, allowing mornings to begin with views across the paddocks and horses nearby. Rather than feeling removed from its surroundings, the stay brings us naturally into the gentle rhythm of ranch life, with simple wooden architecture and nature all around.

A Quiet Cottage in Bali

There are several individual cottages, ranging from intimate one-bedroom homes to a larger two-bedroom option. Depending on the cottage, we find private porches or balconies overlooking the horses, kitchens for slow meals at home, and peaceful outdoor spaces. Selected homes also have their own pool and garden.

Between Rice Fields & the Sea

Beyond the paddocks, Kedungu retains a distinctly rural atmosphere. Rice fields surround the stables, while the beach lies around 800–900 metres away, making it easy to wander from ranch life towards the coast. Horse riding through the rice fields and along the beach can also be arranged separately.

For those who want to spend more time with the horses, privately guided beach and rice-field rides can be booked separately. The stables also offer natural horsemanship and other horse-focused experiences, while the surrounding countryside invites simple days between the rice fields and nearby coast.
