Algarve: A Private Beach Day & Sunset Sail through Ria Formosa

You'll begin the day with a private journey to Ilha Deserta, a quiet barrier island within the Ria Formosa Natural Park. With the morning left open for time by the sea, lunch overlooking the landscape and an afternoon aboard an elegant sailing catamaran, the experience moves naturally from beach to water before ending beneath the softer light of sunset.

The Experience

A Morning on Ilha Deserta

A private shuttle takes us across to Ilha Deserta, where the morning is spent at the beach surrounded by the protected landscapes of Ria Formosa. With no packed itinerary to follow, there is time to settle into the island and enjoy its quieter rhythm before lunch.

Lunch beside the Ria Formosa

Lunch can be enjoyed an high quality restaurant on the island. The meal is not included in the experience price, allowing us to choose freely from the restaurant menu before continuing the day on the water. 

Sailing into Sunset

In the afternoon, we step aboard a private sailing catamaran and travel through the Ria Formosa as the light begins to soften. The boat accommodates up to fourteen guests, creating an intimate setting for a long, relaxed sail through the estuary and barrier islands.

Oysters on Board

During the sunset sailing, local oysters are served on board, bringing one of the Ria Formosa’s most characteristic flavours into the experience. It is a simple final detail that connects the afternoon on the water back to the landscape around us.
